Recently, my husband and I went out on a date night. We’ve only been on two other date nights this year and one of those was to the National Championship game in January. That’s a tough date night to top, but we tried by going to Hall’s Chophouse downtown. We were originally going to go to Jianna’s but they only had reservations at 5 pm and 9 pm, and since I still have to put my kids to bed, that wasn’t happening. We ended up at Hall’s and I am so glad we did because it… was… amazing… Read below to see what I ate and some tips for cute date night outfits.

The Review

Hall’s Chophouse came to Greenville sometime in 2016. I’ve been there for brunch before but we had not been for dinner. There is a Hall’s in Charleston as well, and I believe they are a part of a group that owns a lot of restaurants in SC. This was during restaurant week, which for those who don’t know, is a special event in Greenville dedicated to celebrating all that each restaurant has to offer. The restaurants create a special menu that serves as a kind of sampler. It’s typically an appetizer/salad of some sort, a main dish, and a dessert. Once we got there, they brought out the restaurant week menu, their regular menu, and THEN they brought out this huge platter of steaks to demonstrate the cut. I was totally blown away and decided to stray from the restaurant week menu. I wanted the special which was a surf and turf dish, filet oscar style and scallops. IT. WAS. AMAZING. I know I’ve said that before but it was so freaking good, I am still thinking about it.

My husband got the special menu for restaurant week which included she crab soup, a filet, jalapeño cream corn, and collards. It was also very good, and even though I am not supposed to eat corn or dairy (I’m still nursing and those bother my son’s stomach), I snuck a couple of bites here and there. Sometimes, I just have to say, sorry Alex, I have to eat. I’ve gone two years without dairy and I am at the point where I am kind of over it. Anyway, back to the food. I ate some.

Lastly, we shared the dessert which was a peanut butter brownie something with fudge, raspberry, and whipped cream.

I have been to a lot of restaurants in Greenville and this has to be one of the best. They really do focus on providing excellent service and the food is amazing. It’s one of the higher end restaurants and worth every single penny you will spend. Our waitress was so friendly, and we never felt rushed. The kicker, a few weeks later, I got a thank you card in the mail from the waitress. A freaking thank you card for eating dinner there. Amazing!

The Wardrobe

When we go on date nights, I usually try to get a little fancy, but for whatever reason, I decided just to wear some skinny jeans and my lucky brand shirt. I bought this shirt in New Orleans and it is one of my favorites for sure. My jeans are from the Gap and are my go to when it’s not 1000 degrees outside. I wore my converse because it was a teeny bit cold that night, and I wasn’t feeling wearing boots. So I was the most #momstyle I’ve ever been because I was giving no effs about trying to look nice for my date.

Another pair of shoes I wear all of the time are these sandals from Avarca. I have blogged about them before and wear them all of the time, thanks to my fellow blogger Jane.

I didn’t spend a ton of time on my makeup, but here are a few of my favorite staples including this highlighter from Cargo, this bronzer from Cargo, this blush from Tarte, and this lipstick from Tarte.
