One of the things y’all mentioned that you’d like to see more of was outfits of the day. I’ve been wanting to do that more but I’m going to be honest; it’s hard to get in front of the camera. One because logistically, it’s difficult to actually focus and get exposure on something not there. Usually, I ask Ellie to help but there are times, like yesterday, where she’s non compliant. I tried using Alex which was a complete disaster. The other thing is that is just really uncomfortable in front of the camera!! I think this is one of those things that’s going to help me become a better photographer though because I think most people feel the same. I wanted to give up yesterday, but I just kept pushing and I think I got a shot that looks okay. Why can’t I seem to product the same results by taking pictures of me that I do when taking pictures of my kids? That, I don’t know, but I’m going to keep trying. That being said, I tried my best to capture a typical week of my outfits for y’all. Really, I only got 3, but if you like this post, I’ll keep working on getting more.

Seriously, why can’t it be this easy to get pictures of myself like this??

Okay, before I start posting all these pictures of what I wear, I feel like we need to have a conversation. I really love to read fashion blogs like Boho Style File and For All Things Lovely, but I have kids and it’s just not practical for me. I know we’ve discussed this before. Also, I fully operate with a capsule wardrobe which means you are going to see the same things over and over. That being said, I wanted you to see that there is totally a middle ground between fashion bloganista and wearing yoga pants wherever you go. There’s nothing wrong with wearing yoga pants everywhere you go, but I feel like sometimes, putting on jeans is a step in the self care direction. And without further ado, here are three of my outfits from this week.

Monday’s outfit included a Navy Pea Coat from the Gap, a long sleeve gray shirt, and high waist skinny jeans (all from the gap which is a little embarrassing – I didn’t know I was in an entire brand hehe). Shoes: gray converse Chuck Taylors

The shoes are to Amazon. It’s an affiliate link where I do get commission if you buy them from there but obviously, feel free to buy them wherever you’d like

I’m not sure what Ellie is doing here.

Tuesday’s outfit was this sweater from Ann Taylor (I actually bought this for a client earlier this season and she didn’t end up buying it so I kept it. That being said, I couldn’t find it  so I can’t link it. sorry), a Chambray shirt from Jcrew, and the same high waist skinny jeans from Gap, shoes are Toms (these are also old and so I linked them to the exact ones that seem to be used but I feel like you can just choose whichever ones you like)

I at least got some interesting light here! Wednesday’s outfit was a royal blue sweater from Nordstrom Rack, my thrifted denim from Miracle Hill, and Toms (I’m just wearing a white cami underneath).

I’m not breaking any fashion barriers but I did manage to pull it together 3 days this week without wearing athleisure. Today (thursday), I had a turtleneck sweater, skinny jeans, and my toms but I just wasn’t able to get in from to the camera.

SO….

What do y’all think? Do I look like a crazy person? Did you like reading a post like this? Any suggestions for posing more naturally in front of the camera??

If you have any thoughts or suggestions, feel free to leave a comment. I love them! Thanks for reading
