It’s been a while since this happened. This isn’t truly a lifestyle blog, but being a mom is such a huge part of my life that I felt like I should share an update on everyone.
This is an outfit from my capsule wardrobe - black jeans, shirt Gap
Ellie is her same old self. She is really learning to assert her independence and I’m finding that a challenge. How do you allow a child some freedom to explore and learn their independence but also get things done!! Getting her dressed and getting her in the car are two very challenging activities.
Dress baby gap, boots stride rite, tights old navy
jean shirtdress old navy
Alex is very cute which is good since he’s a horrible sleeper. He wakes a lot to eat. He weighs over 20 lbs and is almost 30 inches long, so I know he’s hungry. The first year is always tough so I know it will get better at some point. Ellie didn’t sleep through the night entirely until she was 17 months and she still doesn’t sometimes, especially when she’s sick or teething. She’s almost done thank goodness, but we have a whole lot of teeth to get for Alex… teething… ugh.
Being a mom is challenging and even more so trying to start a new business as a stay at home mom. I know that this is a temporary stage in life and I want to enjoy them as much as possible. Alex won’t take a bottle, so it’s hard for me to leave him but he’s starting solids soon, so that will change. The second baby is easier in terms of knowing that this too shall pass so I’m able to be more present with him than I was with her.
Tell me about your family. Did you start a business with two young kids? Any tips or tricks?
