Welcome to my Summer Roundup! In this post, I wanted to take some time to review my summer with the kids, show some pictures from my 365 Project, and transition back into posting more regularly. I always want to bring y’all relevant content which is why I enjoy writing about my experience as a mother of two. That being said, I actually do run a business as a lifestyle family photographer and so, I want to take the time to post more of my work here. As always, I am constantly evolving in what I want to write and how I want to present myself on this forum, so this next 2018-2019 school year is no different. My ideal client for both sides of my personal styling and family photography business are the same, women. Women who are moms, were moms, women who don’t work, women who do work, and all of the in between. That makes content creation a little easier but I think I still want to define what I’m posting here even more. No matter your season of life, no matter your age, I want this page to provide examples of my work as a stylist and photographer, provide relevant information to y’all like photo tips, style tips, living a minimalist and organic lifestyle, and a place to celebrate women. I’m going to talk a lot about body positivity, motherhood, and how we connect to our intuition. I hope those topics interest you because I am looking to grow my business even more this year! Thanks so much for reading! I am so grateful for each and everyone of you who spend your precious time coming to my corner of the internet.
If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I’ve been doing a 365 project. I haven’t been perfect in taking pictures every single day. Life happens and I just can’t always pick up the camera. We’ve had a lot of illnesses this summer, and though I tried to document some of that, I also want to be respectful to my kids to not have a camera in their face while they’re not feeling well. I have focused solely on capturing our summer vs playing around with product and food photography. I think I’ll have the opportunity to do some of that other stuff this fall, when the kids are in school. I tried to select pictures below that represent our summer, both good and bad. Please feel free to comment below and let me know what you think.
If you’re curious about my style of photography, I’ll be writing a post soon about it. I mainly shoot in a style called Documentary Photography and I’ll explain more of what that means in the future. Though it’s different, I truly believe there are some of you out there that want to capture more of your family in their most comfortable state. It’s so hard to do that in a 1 hour family session at a park you never attend. If you are interested in a documentary session for your own family, I’ll include my contact form below. I’d love to set up a meeting with you and show you more of my portfolio.
Thanks so much for reading!
