Paris Mountain is one of my favorite locations for sessions, especially during the fall. The leaves are vivid and bright, a mixture of red, yellow, and oranges. The lake is serene and peaceful, the sun has a special warmth, but the crispness of the air keeps everyone comfortable. When Kelley contacted me about family pictures, I knew that this would be a great location for them. With three fun loving and joyful kids, we need somewhere that had wide open spaces for them to run. I knew that we were going to have a good time, and a good time we had. Thanks, Kelley, for entrusting me to capture your family this fall!

Millie and Madison were in Ellie’s class last year, and Ellie loved them. They are both very happy and active kids, so I figured this session would be similar to taking pictures of Ellie. And I was right. And y’all, they are natural models. They both hammed it up for the camera so well, I couldn’t take it. I had a hard time choosing which ones to send, because they were all really cute. Drew was a lot of fun as well, and I am surprised at how well they played together. At the end, when we were doing pictures of the three of them together, it was a whole lot of sweetness, and also punching. The best part was when I said, “y’all make a mean face” and Madison started punching Drew in the back. I was laughing so hard. I love kids.

Millie, the demure model, oh so shy (not at all)

Madison, the comedian. She told me she liked Belle, so I asked her to act like Belle, and she pretended like she was reading a book. It was really cute.

Drew, the leader. I don’t know if it’s because he’s the oldest, or a boy, or whatever, but he felt like the leader of the pack to me. And he loves his sisters.

Kelley was so laid back and when mom is laid back, everyone else usually is too. She’s actually been such a godsend for me because she has helped me feel better about myself as a mother, and my kids. I’ve gone to her with concerns about whatever is going on, and she always has a supportive word. It’s usually, “oh yeah, that’s normal”. And most of the time, that’s all I need to hear. I really appreciate that about her, and am grateful to have met her.

The other thing I wanted to mention about this family is how close knit they are, especially Andrew and Kelley. I thought I was taking pictures of a newly engaged couple because they were so happy and loving with each other. I didn’t have to coach them at all when it came to posing, they naturally interacted with each other and made my job very easy.
