I have known Stephanie for close to 10 years now. She and I clicked from the moment we met and I’ve even written about her before on my other blog. Imagine my excitement when she had her first baby very close to my second baby!! Even though busy lives keep us from hanging out more, I consider her someone who I connect with in a way that I don’t with most. Stephanie is a person who can talk to anyone, has a beautiful eye for design, and has built two businesses from scratch!! I feel honored to have been able to capture her second pregnancy with her family.
I think that it is so important to capture the family before the second baby comes because once it does, everything changes. One of the things that gave me the most difficulty was the change in my relationship with my newborn. For 2 years, it was just us two and all of the sudden, it wasn’t. I didn’t have the freedom to cuddle just my little girl. In fact, now I was charged with the task of protecting my second from my first!!! The feelings and emotions I felt were challenging and there were times that I cried. While I love my second baby so much and am so grateful for him, I still miss those uninterrupted moments I had with my first. I know that Stephanie feels the same because we’ve talked about it and because I know her love for Emmelinne is so strong. She is a loyal and dedicated mama who cherishes her baby as much as I do.
One of the things that I noticed when spending time with Stephanie and Stephen is that they complement each other perfectly. Stephen is calm and has a presence that seems almost like an anchor. Stephanie is like me in that she’s a Type A so having that calm, strong presence helps keep her in check. Just kidding Stephanie!!! I think they both do a great job working as a team and I always enjoy spending time with them. Stephen is outgoing just like Stephanie and it’s easy to connect with him.
