One common thread that all my families seem to have is that they’re lots of fun. This family set the bar high because they were so fun and they were such a joy, especially the little baby girl, Marisol. Once I heard the little girls name, I KNEW it was going to be an awesome session because she reminded me of my favorite character on The Real Housewives of Miami, Marisol! The family laughed at me like I was crazy (truth: I kind of am), but any time I get little signs like that, I know I’m in the right place.
When Kathi first called me and told me she wanted pictures of her new grand baby, I couldn’t wait to book her. I could tell in her voice how excited she was to have this little baby girl in her life. Since her family didn’t live close, she wanted to capture some portraits of her sweet little grandbaby at this precious stage.
They were all so laid back and the session was so easy. With a cute little girl like Marisol, is there any question?
When capturing little children, I like to have sessions in home because they feel most comfortable in familiar surroundings. It also gives them a chance to take little breaks if they need to, though Marisol was completely content the entire time. She literally never cried, at all. What lucky parent!! When Ellie had her 3 month session, she cried to entire time. I wasn’t blessed with calm kids.
That headband… I can’t even.
After spending a lot of time with Marisol, I wanted to capture some of her parents. They were such a fun couple and I didn’t have to direct them. They were so natural in front of the camera and they laughed a lot. That put me at ease!!! Believe it or not, I can get nervous too!! Really, I just want everyone to be happy, and the Bolz family seemed to be.
That’s a happy grandma!! I feel very lucky to have captured this beautiful family and this sweet little girl!
