My favorite sessions are the ones done in home because I get to meet the families on their turf. Kids feel more comfortable plus I get to capture family memories, including the house that holds all of those memories. This session was no exception, especially because Vince is one of the funniest guys I’ve ever met. In my pre-photography days, Vince and I worked together as Executive Recruiters in the Greenville area. While I decided to stay at home with my kids, Vince started his own recruiting firm where he’s continued to be very successful. His wife is one of the most beautiful people I’ve ever met and his kids are super cute as well. They basically made this the easiest session ever because it was fun and everyone looks like they work for a modeling agency.
My favorite sessions are in home because everyone feels comfortable. Photographer sessions can be stressful because mom wants everyone to look good, (and to act right), dad could not care less, animals are all over the place, and we have “limited” time. Having everyone at home adds a level of comfort because no on is rushing to get to a specific location. With my in home sessions, I don’t typically have time limits because it helps everyone relax and I can get more candid shots.
For this session, I started with Logan first. I used to work with Vince in my previous job and Logan was just a little girl, probably my own daughters age. When I walked into the home and saw how big Logan was, I could not believe. She’s always been gorgeous, I mean, look at her mom, but she is really blossoming into a beautiful young girl! Wow!
I really didn’t have a set time with Leo because he was doing his thing, just like all active 18 month olds. I just chased him around and got pictures where I could. He was so sweet and because he is almost exactly Alex’s age, I felt like I had a handle on what he was going to do next!
Lastly, I had to get some pictures of the fun couple. Vince is a VERY funny guy, and it made shooting them so easy.
This was such a fun session and I am so grateful that Mel reached out to me to capture this beautiful family. I had way too much fun, especially with Vince cracking his usual jokes.
